Pray for: Venezuela

Venezuela has experienced great travail in recent years, courtesy of corrupt and inept leaders. Somehow, even vast oil reserves did not prevent economic meltdown and widespread poverty. The obduracy of the regime caused systemic failures and drove millions of Venezuelans to flee to other countries, for both political and economic reasons. The abduction of Maduro let the USA flex its military might, but until the regime and all its vestiges are fully dismantled and free elections are held, Venezuelans will remain subject to the will of powers that do not have their best interests at heart. May the Lord undertake for the suffering Venezuelan people, and may a new day come soon when this beautiful nation can be restored!

Spiritual forces battle in Venezuela. Both rich and poor visit witch doctors in the thousands of spiritist and occult shops. One animist cult (Maria Lionza) has 500,000 followers. Only 10% of Catholics attend mass. Fewer people go to church in Venezuela than in any other Latin American nation. Millions of former Catholics chose evangelical faith or no religion at all. New Age spirituality attracts the educated and rich. Satanists actively try to destroy the Church. Caracas has Latin America’s largest mosque. Pray for the Holy Spirit to bind all the powers that blind Venezuelans to Truth, and to reveal Christ to all.
