Young people are drifting away from Christianity, despite 60-80% of them being interested in God and religious matters. There is both great threat and great opportunity in the current spiritual climate among young people in Switzerland. Pray for:
a) Youth-oriented churches and church services such as ICF and the God-network, which are deliberately progressive, especially in using music and media to reach those disinterested in traditional church. They are active in many Swiss cities.
b) Outreach through agencies such as OM, YWAM, KingsKids, Bund Evangelischer Schweizer Jungscharen (BESJ) and YMCA-Jungschar.
c) Specific ministries to young people such as SU, CEF and other childrens ministries.
d) Student ministry. For too many students, life is meaningless and without purpose, leading to self-destructive lifestyles. CCCI ministers widely. IFES works with both Francophone groups (GBU) and German-speaking groups (VBG).
Bible training is provided by a number of institutions. From them, graduates have gone all over the world in Christian service. Pray for:
a) German-speaking seminaries: STH Basel, TDS Aarau, TSC St. Chrischona, TS Bienenberg, SBT Beatenberg, IGW and ISTL.
b) French-speaking Bible schools: Institut Biblique Emmaus, Institut Biblique de Genève, IBETO (Pentecostal) and YWAM.
Pray that these may retain their spiritual cutting edge and become a means of blessing and revival in Switzerland. Pray also that these institutions might be flexible and relevant for today's generation, and that many might be called and equipped for service through them.

The Operation World book, CD-ROM, and DVD-ROM provide far more information and fuel for prayer for the people of Switzerland.
